Father shoots & kills man who had gun to daughter’s head

An attempted home invasion turned into a murder investigation Tuesday morning…. St. Louis police say a 17 year old girl was outside of her home getting something from a car when two armed men confronted her and demanded that she return to her home. The girl’s father saw the suspects walking his daughter toward the home. That`s when police say the teen’s father, a 34 year old man, got his gun and fired several shots at the suspects, hitting both of them. The girl`s mother, also 34, got another gun and fired a round as well, not hitting either suspect. The first suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect ran away, got into the first suspect’s car and contacted his brother to take him to the hospital.

“The US has actually been cooling since the Thirties, the hottest decade on record. When future generations try to understand how the world got carried away around the end of the 20th century by the panic over global warming, few things will amaze them more than the part played in stoking up the scare by the fiddling of official temperature data. There was already much evidence of this seven years ago, when I was writing my history of the scare, The Real Global Warming Disaster. But now another damning example has been uncovered by Steven Goddard’s US blog Real Science, showing how shamelessly manipulated has been one of the world’s most influential climate records, the graph of US surface temperature records published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Goddard shows how, in recent years, NOAA’s US Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) has been ‘adjusting’ its record by replacing real temperatures with data ‘fabricated’ by computer models. The effect of this has been to downgrade earlier temperatures and to exaggerate those from recent decades, to give the impression that the Earth has been warming up much more than is justified by the actual data….”

Great Lakes finally ice-free after record ice longevity

With summer just around the corner, for the first time in seven months the Great Lakes are officially free of ice…. Following one of the coldest winter’s on record for the region with temperatures from Jan. 1 to April 1 averaging seven degrees below normal, the Great Lakes hit their second highest ice coverage on record, reaching 92.19 percent on March 6, 2014.

Hidden volcanoes melt Antarctic glaciers from belo

“Antarctica is a land of ice. But dive below the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, and you’ll find fire as well, in the form of subglacial volcanoes.
