“A housesitter was alerted of a possible break-in through the home’s alarm system, and he allegedly caught the two men trying to break into his house. There was a struggle, and he pulled out a gun, shooting and seriously injuring one of the suspects. The other took off on foot and was later arrested….”

 “A man waiting for his six-year-old daughter to be dropped off from school, had no idea he would be the city’s first reported knock-out victim. ‘I saw the van circle twice, and the second time three kids came out. I didn’t suspect anything. I hadn’t any enemies, or any reason to believe they would be looking to do anything to me.’ The victim was attacked by 17-year-old Marvell Weaver. But Weaver did more than try to knock his victim out, he tried to do it with a taser. Luckily for the victim, the taser didn’t work and he was able to protect himself with his concealed-carry .40 caliber pistol. ‘He shoved something into my side. I wasn’t sure what it was. It had some force to it. I wasn’t sure if it was a knife or a gun,’ said the victim. Weaver was shot twice, in the leg and an inch away from his spine. He’s been sentenced to a year in jail for the attack….”

“Police were called to the Marathon station at Winchester Road and Industry Road shortly after 12:30 when a man came in to rob the store, but they say he didn’t simply demand money…. They say the man attacked the store owner. They say the two struggled briefly before the shop owner got his hands on a gun and shot the would-be robber….”

“23-year-old Gypsy Watt is dead, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested, then charged with burglary and assault on Friday. A cancer patient is shaken up after the two broke into his Pine County farmhouse around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say the men, who were just out of jail, when they broke into 75-year-old Charles Carlson’s home, on Fox Road near Sandstone. Both men have long criminal histories, and one had a gun. Carlson struggled with the intruder and managed to grab his own gun. He shot one of the intruders, Watts, who died at the scene….”

“Two Gonzaga students are facing possible expulsion from the University after they pulled a weapon in self defense as a six time felon attempted to get into their on campus apartment. Fagan answered the door and was greeted by John Taylor. Taylor is a felon with an extensive criminal history and when he arrived Fagan said Taylor showed him what appeared to be an ankle bracelet as he tried to intimidate him. Fagan said Taylor then demanded money and was frustrated when he was turned down. Taylor then attempted to force entry into the apartment. At that point McIntosh brandished his pistol. McIntosh has a concealed weapons permit for the gun and did not know it was in violation of policy at the time. Once Taylor saw the gun he left the property….” [This is a no-brainer: Defend your life and property, or obey an asinine anti-firearms rule? I’d rather be alive and not attending Gonzaga, than dead because of their policy.]

“A Fort Bend County teenager fought back Friday after two strangers broke into his home. One suspect is now dead and a second is on the run. [The teen] was home alone when he heard a noise. There were two men pounding on the front door, but he didn’t answer. They then went around to the back of the house. The men allegedly forced their way inside, meeting the teen head-on. The shot suspect died inside the home. The second suspect fled the scene….”
