Climate Change Deniers are Completely Insane

Got this message yesterday from a very concerned climate change alarmist:

Hi Matt, I read you sometimes but I generally find you to be an assh*le. Just being honest. I also think you have a reputation (or you’d like to think you have a reputation) as someone who isn’t afraid to “tell it like it is,” but I think you haven’t earned that. Actually you are very afraid to challenge any republican talking point so you stick to the script on everything. I guess it’s more important to be invited to the parties than to tell the truth.

I’m wondering if you have the guts to address something and actually force your right wing readers to think for themselves. I’m getting really tired of seeing these idiots on Facebook who every time it gets cold or snows start gloating about how it “proves” there is no climate change. You’ve never outed yourself as a climate denier, and I know you like to consider yourself a logical person, so I’m hoping this is one area where you differ from your cohorts. These morons need to be put in their place. Colder temperatures and blizzards ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE SCIENTIFIC MODEL FOR CLIMATE CHANGE. This is why I could never be a republican. I can’t be a part of a group of anti-science climate deniers who would kill this planet if they were given free reign. Prove you’re really “controversial,” Matt, and call your people to task here.

I agree with you. Honestly, I never addressed it because I never knew it was such a pervasive problem. But now that you’ve called my attention to it, allow me to be the first to say that climate deniers are lunatics. I’ll take it a step further than you even did, JM, and submit that climate deniers should be banned from teaching, voted out of office, and probably fired from any other job they might hold. Seriously, I can’t hardly believe that anyone could be so foolish and so delusional as to be a climate denier.

I mean, to deny the existence of the climate? That’s madness. The word “climate” means “the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region.” The word “deny” means “to refuse to recognize or acknowledge; disown; disavow; repudiate.” Anyone who rejects or repudiates the existence of weather conditions ought to be scolded and shunned and possibly institutionalized. We all must stand up against these menaces!

Luckily, upon closer inspection, I see that no such view actually exists anywhere in our society. This is just a label you people fabricated because left wing environmentalists are reflexively disingenuous about everything….

Officer aids baby formula shoplifter

It started with a complaint about a shoplifter, but it ended with an act of kindness. A London police officer took it upon himself to help a suspected shoplifter after realizing the man was in a difficult situation…. Roby was called to the Kroger on North Main Street in London on Saturday, Jan. 17 after a loss prevention officer stopped a man who was shoplifting. The suspect was a single father who had fallen on hard times, Roby said. The man was caught stealing baby formula for his six-month-old son, who was with him at the time. The store’s loss prevention officer told Roby he did not want to press charges, and Roby agreed…. But what Roby did next showed the shoplifter what it truly means ‘to protect and serve’ one’s community. He bought some formula himself, giving it to the man for his baby…. Roby also gave the man a message, saying he told the man there are a lot of people and organizations – including the police department – that are available to help those in need….

Armed co-ed saves self, boyfriend from violent home invaders

 “The search is on for two men who broke into an apartment with two University of Central Florida students inside…. Nour Skargee and his girlfriend Sable Nehme were both home when an unexpected visitor arrived on their doorstep…. Skargee says his girlfriend was in the back bedroom when he went to the front door and looked through the peephole. He described seeing a man with his head down on his doorstep…. As Skargee reached to unlock the door, he says the man forced his way in and brandished a firearm…. The suspect forced Skargee to the ground as a second man entered his apartment. Skargee says his thoughts immediately went to his girlfriend who was in the back room…. Nehme slammed the bedroom door shut and locked the door. That’s when one of the gunmen looked down at Skargee and threatened their lives…. Nehme ran to the closet in the back of her room, and removed a handgun from the top shelf of her closet. Within seconds, the gunman kicked down her bedroom door and stood face to face with Nehme…. The two men ran out of the apartment…. Nehme said the gun was a gift from her father. He told her she should always keep it with her for safety’s sake….”

Armed city council member not about to be a sitting duck

 “New Hope City Council members were in the middle of a routine meeting on Monday night when suddenly a barrage of gunshots left them scrambling for cover.Two police officers were hit by gunfire and one suspect was shot and killed during the shooting…. One of the council members, however, was armed and seemingly prepared to defend his colleagues and other attendees at the meeting in the Minneapolis suburb…. City Council member John Elder, who also works as public information officer of the Minneapolis Police Department, reportedly drew his firearm and ordered everyone to get down as he trained his across the room in anticipation of any threat….” [The council member didn’t have to use his gun, but that’s not the point. The fact is, he was prepared. And if the gunman had happened to go after the council members, there’s a really good chance that they wouldn’t have been sitting ducks, because one had the wisdom to be prepared to defend himself and those around him.]

Officer arrests pizza delivery man, then delivers pizza

Oswego Police arrested two male subjects at Chicago and Garfield for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the subjects was en route to deliver a pizza to a local residence at the time of arrest. Seeing that the large pizza sitting in the passenger seat had no means of reaching its destination, an officer delivered the pizza to the specified address on the receipt attached. A confused resident accepted the pizza, and was very glad that the police were there to deliver the pizza, rather than talk to them.

Rudely awakened homeowner uses pistol to drive off home invaders

 “The homeowner told authorities he was sleeping when two men kicked in his front door…. According to investigators, the homeowner grabbed his pistol and began firing shots at the criminals from the top of the stairs…. The men reportedly fired repeatedly at the homeowner before they fled in a 2015 Dodge pickup. Deputies said no one was hurt, despite more than two dozen shots being unloaded….”

Armed off-duty sheriff defends against armed robbers

“An off-duty Cook County sheriff’s deputy exchanged gunfire with two robbers around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday…. The officer was walking … when he was held-up two armed men who were wearing masks, officials said. One of the suspects fired his gun, and the officer shot back, according to officials…. The robbers ran away with the officer’s cell phone and cash. No one is in custody. The off-duty deputy was not injured. But investigators found blood in a nearby alley, which could indicate one of the robbers may have been wounded….”

Why is Obama Unable to Call Terrorist Attacks Islamic Terrorism?

As a kid we used to say “Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”

We were wrong. Words are dangerous. Words can be deadly. Words (or lack of them) can inspire terrorism. As radical Islamic Jihad threatens our countries, our children and our free speech, there is a new Neville Chamberlain. His name is Barack Hussein Obama.

The problem is in the words Obama says and doesn’t say. The words he uses to praise Islam and the words he refuses to say to denounce radical Islam are dangerous to America. 

Ask any general. The key to fighting a war is to know your enemy. In the history of warfare, no one has ever been afraid to say the enemy’s name out loud. Until now. Until Obama.

Why can’t Obama connect the words “Islam” and “terrorism”? It’s not as if there isn’t enough evidence….

It’s clear to anyone but an idiot or a liberal … that the world’s enemy is radical Islam. But sadly, it’s more not just “radical Islam.” Let’s stop being politically correct. Islam itself is a problem. Millions of Muslims who aren’t “radical” support and even celebrate intolerance and terrorism…..

I was born a Jew. My relatives were murdered in Germany. Not every German was a Nazi murderer. But most every German went along with the Holocaust. They knew what was happening. They let it happen. They remained silent while six million Jews were tortured, enslaved, and gassed. That made them complicit in the murders.

What is happening today is eerily similar. Not all Muslims are bad people. Ninety-five percent will never murder anyone. Ninety-five percent will never be a terrorist. But like Germans of the Nazi era, most Muslims remain silent about the horrific acts of their brothers and sisters.

Even Muslims in America are guilty of silence. Have you seen any marches in Detroit by American Muslims denouncing terrorism? That makes them complicit. You are either for intolerance, terrorism and murder…or against it….

And the Common Denominator is…

The text below is from an email I received the other day (with a couple minor edits of my own). I don’t know who wrote this originally, but it makes a great point. You really have to wonder why the Obama administration, and why lots of leftists (who some mislabel as “liberal” or “progressive”), are so afraid of calling terrorist attacks committed by Muslims (i.e. the vast majority of terrorist attacks) “Islamic Terrorism”.
