Green Energy is BS

Hold your oxen just a minute — before you start cussing me for denigrating “green” energy, you might want to read beyond the headline, and beyond this line…
There is some green energy I like.

Hydroelectric is damn good, if you ask me. And fission. You can’t get much greener than nuclear green. And don’t forget about natural gas. Even though it ain’t got no color, it’s more green than coal and oil — especially when it comes from a bovine’s behind.

No Benefit Means No Benefits

The theory behind student loans and grants is that an educated populace improves the social and economic health of a country.

Veteran’s Administration hospitals and programs exist because it makes sense to take care of the health and well-being of the men and women who put their lives on the line to serve and protect our nation.

Don’t Feed the Mouth that Bites You

There’s an old saying, not to bite the hand that feeds you. Sound advice, to be sure. Certainly there are lot of people in this country who remember that when they go to the polls.

Of course, as with most things, there is a flip side, another way to look at it: It’s also a really good idea not to feed the mouth that bites you.

If conservatives would only pay heed to the latter advice as well as socialists adhere to the former, perhaps we wouldn’t have had to suffer through a second term of Obama.

Let the Homeschoolers Stay

Back in 2008 a German family immigrated to the United States. The Romeike family left Germany because Germany prohibits home schooling, and the parents objected to the mandated school curriculum.

Now the Obama administration is trying to send them back to Germany, where they will be subject to thousands of dollars of fines, face possible prison time, and risk losing custody of their children if they don’t submit  [ref].

There is no Blasphemy

There are some truly idiotic and evil people in the world.

Earlier today, hundreds of Pakistani Muslims ransacked a Christian neighborhood, looting and setting fire to homes, forcing hundreds of Christian families to flee for their lives. [ref]

Why?

Because a Christian man was accused of speaking blasphemy against Muhammad.

Oh, alrighty then. Case closed. Violent temper tantrum justified, right?
Wrong.

Blasphemy? What a load of crap.

Don’t Cry for Chávez, Venezuela

Chávez should not be mourned. On the contrary, the death of a dictator is cause for celebration.

Yes, Chávez was a dictator. While he didn’t stoop to the depraved despotism of Stalin, Mao or Hitler, he was still a dictator.

Once Chávez obtained the power of presidency in 1999, he did everything he could to centralize and consolidate power into his own hands, trampling on individual liberties and private property rights in the process.

Pelosi Deserves a Big Pay Cut

The “sequester” we’ve been hearing about, that will force federal budget cuts across most federal agencies, will also include cuts to Congressional compensation.

Perhaps having their own bottom line threatened will get them to pass a budget. Hopefully a reasonable one. (I’m not holding my breath.)

But Pelosi doesn’t think Congressional pay cuts should be part of the penalty. She believes pay cuts are beneath her “dignity”.

Good Riddance

Christopher Dorner is probably dead, his charred body found in the cabin he apparently set on fire after shooting himself [ref].

Good riddance.

He killed innocent people. He was a terrorist. He was a psychopath.

I don’t care whether he could have been medically declared insane or not. Anybody who murders innocent people as Dorner did is psychologically messed up.

Sadly, there are people almost as crazy as Dorner was who are trying to justify his actions, even calling him a hero [ref].
