Criminals get what they deserve when they are harmed while threatening someone else’s life or property. I really don’t care what their motives were. As soon as they attack someone or maliciously enter a home or place of business that is not their own, they have willingly forfeited their own safety, and potentially their own life.

As the man then began breaking into a pickup truck, the truck’s owner came out to walk his dog and confronted the thief, according to investigators. Guns were drawn, and several shots were fired…. “54-year-old Bryon Park of Palm Bay had just returned to his vehicle after delivering a Domino’s pizza to a room in the motel complex when he was approached by 32-year-old Frederick Kelly brandishing a large knife. Kelly allegedly demanded money from Park and threatened to kill him if he did not comply. Brevard County spokesperson Lieutenant Tod Goodyear said in a release that Park then obtained the firearm he carries in his vehicle and defended himself. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Kelly has a lengthy violent criminal history that includes armed robbery, aggravated battery and false imprisonment….”

While his wife was in a Houston Denny’s restroom, a man was robbed by six armed men. When his wife emerged from the restroom, she saw her husband on the floor, with the men around him, so she drew her licensed pistol and shot at the robbers, who fled….

“The Lake County [CA] Sheriff’s Office has reported that an attempted home invasion robbery Sunday resulted in gunshots being fired by a resident of the home…. Occupants of the home reportedly told deputies that they had head what sounded like someone gaining entry into the house through the dog door, Brooks said…. A male resident then armed himself and went to investigate the noise finding a male subject crawling through the dog door into the residence, Brooks reported. The resident of the home was holding what appeared to be a firearm, according to Brooks’ report. At that point the resident questioned the would-be robber, who began lifting the firearm towards the home invasion victim. Brooks said the resident then fired twice. The alleged robber immediately retreated from the dog door and ran from the residence, Brooks said. The resident then noticed a second suspect in the middle of the yard. According to the report the second suspect began raising what the resident thought to be a weapon and the resident responded by firing two more times causing the second suspect to flee on foot….”
