Great Lakes ice coverage second greatest recorded

Reported By www.usatoday.com on 2014-03-05

“Got ice? The Great Lakes certainly do, with ice coverage at its highest percentage in 35 years, according to scientists from the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Mich…. As of Wednesday morning, 91% of the Great Lakes were ice-covered, which is the second-highest level since records began, according to the laboratory. The previous second place record was in 1994, at 90.7%. The record of almost 95% was set in February 1979….”

Greenpeace co-founder: No scientific proof humans are dominant cause of warming climate

Reported By Fox News on 2014-02-26

“A co-founder of Greenpeace told lawmakers there is no evidence man is contributing to climate change, and said he left the group when it became more interested in politics than the environment. Patrick Moore, a Canadian ecologist and business consultant who was a member of Greenpeace from 1971-86, told members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee environmental groups like the one he helped establish use faulty computer models and scare tactics in promoting claims man-made gases are heating up the planet….”

Five scientific reasons that global warming isn’t happening

Reported By townhall.com on 2014-02-18

“How did global warming discussions end up hinging on what’s happening with polar bears, unverifiable predictions of what will happen in a hundred years, and whether people are “climate deniers” or “global warming cultists?” If this is a scientific topic, why aren’t we spending more time discussing the science involved? Why aren’t we talking about the evidence and the actual data involved? Why aren’t we looking at the predictions that were made and seeing if they match up to the results? If this is such an open and shut case, why are so many people who care about science skeptical? Many Americans have long since thought that the best scientific evidence available suggested that man wasn’t causing any sort of global warming. However, now, we can go even further and suggest that the planet isn’t warming at all….”

Alaska sets wind chill record

Reported By www.adn.com on 2014-02-16

“Alaska hit its all-time lowest recorded wind chill on Friday. At 3:39 p.m., sensors at Howard Pass in the Brooks Range picked up a wind chill of minus 97 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s calculated from a recorded temperature of minus 42 degrees and a sustained northern wind of 71 mph. A gust also was recorded at 78 mph….” [Darn that global warming! No doubt the alarmists will try to tell us that it’s “man-made climate change”, caused somehow by non-existent global warming. Meanwhile, I defy every single alarmist, scientist or otherwise, to prove that this “record” wind chill is worse than thousands of low wind chills that haven’t been recorded over the centuries. The bottom line? It’s not an anomaly. The climate changes all the time, up and down, cold, hot, stormy, calm, and mankind’s influence is negligible.]

Brutal winter freezes Lake Superior

Reported By Fox News on 2014-02-12

“Hell may not freeze over, but experts say Lake Superior could this winter, for the first time this century. The world’s largest freshwater lake was 87.1 percent iced over as of Tuesday, and could soon be virtually covered, thanks to an unrelenting winter in which the mercury has fallen even harder than snow, leaving ice several feet thick in some areas…. Professor Jay Austin, also of the University of Minnesota’s Large Lakes Observatory, said he expects ice coverage to exceed the 20-year-record of 91 percent on the 31,700-square-mile lake before spring….”

U.S. South gets hit with another ice storm

Reported By Fox News on 2014-02-12

“Another wintry storm barreled across the southern United States on Wednesday, causing North Carolina drivers caught in monumental traffic jams to abandon their cars as highways became iced while hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses lost electricity…. As the storm glazed the South with snow and freezing rain, it also pushed northward along the Interstate 95 corridor, threatening to bring more than a foot of snow Thursday to the already sick-of-winter mid-Atlantic and Northeast….”

Polar vortex to bring dangerous record-breaking cold to much of US

Reported By Fox News on 2014-01-04

“As much of the country digs out from a powerful winter storm that buried parts of the Northeast, tundra-like temperatures are poised to deliver a rare and potentially dangerous blow to the Midwest, with forecasters predicting a near-record or historic cold outbreak…. Meanwhile, some cities saw record lows on Friday. In Wisconsin, a record low temperature was set in Green Bay, where the mercury dipped to minus 18. The National Weather Service said that topped the 17-below-zero mark last recorded in 1979….” [Hmmm… Wasn’t it back in the 70s when chicken-little doomsday scientists were predicting the next ice age, and radical political activists were striving to get governments to take drastic measures to stop global cooling????? Yep.]

Trapped in ice that is supposed to be melting

Reported By The Blaze on 2014-01-04

“Responding to a request from Russia, China and Australia, a U.S. Coast Guard heavy icebreaker will leave Australia for Antarctica on Sunday to rescue more than 120 crew members aboard two icebreakers trapped in pack ice near the frozen continent’s eastern edge, officials said….” [The icebreakers got trapped in the ice attempting to free a trapped research vessel that had set out to prove that global warming is melting Antarctica ice. You really can’t make this stuff up….]

Al Sharpton in denial

Reported By player.theplatform.com on 2014-01-04

Sharpton accuses “right-wingers” of being in denial about global warming. I find it funny that the alarmists call us skeptics “deniers”. They are the ones who are now denying that weather patterns and cooling trends have destroyed their pet theory. They are the ones denying that all their wild predictions have turned out to be bunk. They are the real deniers. They even changed their crusade from “global warming” to “climate change” to obfuscate their error. (Based on the video, I don’t think Sharpton got that memo.)

Icy Irony

Reported By Fox News on 2013-12-30

“The leader of a scientific expedition whose ship remains stranded in Antarctic ice says the team, which set out to prove climate change, is ‘stuck in our own experiment.’ But Chris Turney, a professor of climate change at Australia’s University of New South Wales, said it was “silly” to suggest he and 73 others aboard the MV Akademic Shokalskiy were trapped in ice they’d sought to prove had melted. He remained adamant that sea ice is melting, even as the boat remained trapped in frozen seas….” [I love the irony. Kind of like all the times it has unexpectedly snowed at global warming conferences. I wonder if Turney fails to prove man-made climate change is causing ice melt if he’ll keep his job as “professor of climate change”? Just asking.]
