Climate And Truth: A Tale Of Immorality?

Reported by wattsupwiththat.com on 2015-01-02

“The most recent aberration of climate science is the apparent cherry picking of ocean temperature data by government scientists, Richard Feely and Christopher Sabine. The objective is not to determine what is happening, but why it is happening, and then link it to a human cause. This, cart before the horse approach, was the raison d’etre of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from the start…. There are lies of commission and omission, and both fit the political and PR practices of IPCC climate science….”

Snow in Palermo, Sicily

Reported By wattsupwiththat.com on 2015-01-01

“In Rome, arctic-inspired winds brought temperatures as low as minus eight degrees Celsius. Palermo woke up under a white blanket. Dozens of cars are trapped in snows towards Tripoli…. Meanwhile in Norway, they had to remove snow from below the chairlifts because there was too much snow. One worker said they’ve had more snow in the past two days than they’ve had in the last two years combined. ‘These are the same conditions that were experienced during the Dalton and Maunder Minimums’….”

Botched environmental predictions for 2015

Reported By Fox News on 2015-01-01

“You’ve heard the warnings: Global warming could doom humanity. Overpopulation and deforestation will destroy the planet. We’re going to run out of energy. It isn’t happening right now, experts say, but it could happen in a few decades. Yet, decades ago, experts warned that many catastrophes would happen now – by the year 2015. Yet they have not. FoxNews.com found five predictions that went astray….”

Snow may disrupt New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas

Reported By Fox News on 2014-12-30

“If Sin City’s sports books took bets on the weather, snow in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve would normally have terrible odds. It might pay out this year, though, if the white flurries start falling on the Strip’s desert-dwelling casinos as expected Wednesday night. Those huddled in New York City to watch the ball drop could expect a mostly sunny Wednesday with a low of 27 degrees by evening. No chance of snow. But forecasts in Las Vegas pinned the area’s chances on New Year’s Eve snow at 70 percent, along with a 32-degree low….”

Two Thousand Years of Northern European Summer Temperatures Show a Downward Trend

Reported By wattsupwiththat.com on 2014-12-18

“In a paper published in the Journal of Quaternary Science, Esper et al. (2014) … combined portions of each to produce a new-and-improved summer temperature history for northern Europe that stretches all the way ‘from 17 BC to the present.’ And what did they thereby learn? … [That] history depicts ‘a long-term cooling trend of -0.30°C per 1,000 years over the Common Era in northern Europe’…. Most important of all, however, they note that their temperature reconstruction … indicate[s] that ‘conditions during Medieval and Roman times were probably warmer than in the late 20th century’…. And so we continue to collect ever more real-world evidence for the fact, that there is nothing unusual, unnatural or unprecedented about the Earth’s current level of warmth.”

Great Lakes Area Residents Prepare for More Snow

 Reported By www.weather.com on 2014-11-20

“Two days after a major lake-effect snow event dumped more than 60 inches of snow on areas south of Buffalo, killing at least 10 people and stranding others in vehicles for more than 24 hours, residents are being warned that another two or three feet of snowfall could be on the way. ‘We are expecting up to another 2 feet or so in the Lake Erie snowbelts through early Friday,’ said weather.com senior meteorologist Jon Erdman. ‘However, the heaviest snow will fall to the south of the most snow-beleaguered areas of the Buffalo Southtowns.’ Snow also fell in other Great Lakes states, including northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where up to two feet of snow blew ashore.

Early season snow wreaks havoc in Southern United States

Reported By www.weather.com on 2014-11-01

“An early season snow is combining with gusty winds to cause power outages, road closures and other adverse impacts across the South. At the peak of the snow, tens of thousands of people were without power in South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia  According to weather.com senior meteorologist Jonathan Erdman, the unique combination of snow, wind and the time of year is contributing to these power outages….”

So much for global warming, eh? Oh, sorry, “Climate Change”. Of course the alarmists can now attribute any weather to climate change, how convenient. Even though historically, long before man could have any impact, there were, surprise, surprise, early season snow storms in the South.

Weather Channel founder speaks against climate alarmism

Reported By www.express.co.uk on 2014-10-23

John Coleman, who co-founded the Weather Channel, shocked academics by insisting the theory of man-made climate change was no longer scientifically credible.  Instead, what ‘little evidence’ there is for rising global temperatures points to a ‘natural phenomenon’ within a developing eco-system. In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: ‘The ocean is not rising significantly. The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number. Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing). I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid.'”

Scientific study published by National Academy of Sciences attributes Northeast Pacific temperature change primarily to changes in atmospheric circulation

 Reported By www.pnas.org on 2014-09-23

“Northeast Pacific coastal warming since 1900 is often ascribed to anthropogenic greenhouse forcing, whereas multidecadal temperature changes are widely interpreted in the framework of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO), which responds to regional atmospheric dynamics. This study uses several independent data sources to demonstrate that century-long warming around the northeast Pacific margins, like multidecadal variability, can be primarily attributed to changes in atmospheric circulation. It presents a significant reinterpretation of the region’s recent climate change origins, showing that atmospheric conditions have changed substantially over the last century, that these changes are not likely related to historical anthropogenic and natural radiative forcing, and that dynamical mechanisms of interannual and multidecadal temperature variability can also apply to observed century-long trends….”
