“The victim of an early Sunday morning home invasion in Philadelphia shot at his intruders after a brief struggle, killing one of them… 63-year-old Lee Heng told officers he had no choice but to open fire on two men who broke into his second story bathroom window around 1 a.m. Easter morning. Heng was sleeping inside with his two children when the suspects broke in. After a struggle with the two men, police say Heng got his gun and fired several shots, killing one of the suspects….”

Bank robber armed with replica gun shot by armed teller

“The robber pointed a realistic plastic replica handgun at a bank employee and ordered her to give him the money in her teller drawer. The employee instead dropped to the floor behind the teller stations and began crawling toward another bank employee, shouting for help. The robber moved around the end of the teller stations and was directly behind her. A second bank employee heard the shouts for help, saw the robber pointing a handgun at the first bank employee, retrieved a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver, and fired two rounds at the robber, who was struck and fled, leading police on a high-speed chase….”
