Meteorologist chides Mann and Gore for linking cold to climate change

Al Gore took to his Twitter account last week to blame the recent record cold snap on climate change. But he was sharply rebuked with facts by a famed meteorologist….

Bastardi challenged whether the recent cold has anything to do with climate change, saying cold in the 1980s was colder than this year’s recent cold snap and it was never connected to climate change or global warming.

Bastardi also questioned whether or not the upcoming thaw is connected to climate change.

After four tweets, Bastardi concluded by chiding Gore and other climate change alarmists about pursuing narrative over truth…

Meteorologist Joe Bastardi discusses unusually cold winter

A winter storm has been hammering the Northeast, while even states like Florida are experiencing much colder weather than normal. What’s going on? Is this extreme winter evidence for climate change – or just part of the normal weather cycle?

Meteorologist and weather forecaster Joe Bastardi of WeatherBell.com talked about weather patterns and this year’s unusually cold winter with Pat and Jeffy on today’s show. His analysis is a stark contrast to climate change activists’ scare tactics. Listen to the clip (above) to hear him combat various arguments tying cold winter weather to global warming.

This extreme cold is just weather but all heat waves are climate change

From an article by Joanne Nova

There is a deep asymmetry in science. Don’t take it from me, take it from the former President of American Meteorological Society (AMS) and a current Director of the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Atmospheric Sciences Program. Marshall Sheppard would know, he has written over “80 peer reviewed papers” which gives him secret weather knowledge. It’s a kind of smarts that people who analyze MRI scans, design aerofoils or find minerals 3,000m underground can only aspire to.

He’s worried that people are mocking climate change, just because snap-frozen sharks are washing up on the beach, and it’s hitting minus 50C in Canada. In the last twenty years mankind has put out more than a third of all the CO2 homo sapiens has ever made since Homo Erectus lit their last fire. Despite that whole extra blanket on the planet, the last time it was this cold was, like 1917.

So to help train believers Marshall Sheppard has written a handy retort to skeptical cynics…

Cold snap draws comparisons to Mars

A deadly deep freeze has washed over areas of the United States. Temperatures are so low that they’ve drawn comparisons to the planet Mars.

The year 2017 came to an end with a cold snap gripping most of the United States, breaking century-old records and causing several deaths. The cold temperatures covered areas from south Texas, Montana, New England, Alabama and Georgia, ABC News reported….

I Grew Up in Chavez’s Socialist Venezuela. Here’s What I Think About the Current Crisis.

By Ricardo Pica, excerpted from The Daily Signal

Venezuela’s air is thick with tear gas and its streets are stained with the blood of its youth.

The South American nation has been reduced to a battlefield as government forces brutally pummel protestors. For the past 50 days, Venezuelans throughout the country have taken to the streets in anti-government uprisings.

With approval ratings in the teens, the socialist and criminal regime of President Nicolas Maduro appears to be on its last legs.

Hundreds of thousands of protestors continue pouring into the streets, demanding an end to the corruption that has bankrupted the world’s most oil-rich nation.

Maduro has predictably responded to this pressure with more violence….

Over 20 years ago, under the banner of socialism and its endless list of impossible promises, demagogues hijacked Venezuela’s government, dismantled civil society, and crippled the national economy.

Led by Maduro’s deceased predecessor, Hugo Chavez, the socialists implemented measures that crippled the private sector and triggered massive capital flights and brain drains.

Growing up in Chavez’s Venezuela is the defining experience of my life. The country was collapsing and no one seemed to be able to stop it. The opposition was persecuted, journalists were silenced, peaceful protesters were murdered, and crime was rampant….

History has repeatedly shown socialism to be a corrupt and destructive force, and there is no better example of this than in today’s Venezuela.

Recently retired government climate scientist accuses NOAA of data manipulation

The climate change debate went nuclear Sunday over a whistleblower’s explosive allegation that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association manipulated data to advance a political agenda by hiding the global warming “pause.”

In an article on the Climate Etc. blog, John Bates, who retired last year as principal scientist of the National Climatic Data Center, accused the lead author of the 2015 NOAA “pausebuster” report of trying to “discredit” the hiatus through “flagrant manipulation of scientific integrity guidelines and scientific publication standards.”

In addition, Mr. Bates told the Daily [U.K.] Mail that the report’s author, former NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information director Thomas Karl, did so by “insisting on decisions and scientific choices that maximized warming and minimized documentation.”….

Four armed robbers are no match for an AK-47

Reported by Controversial Times on 2016-10-06

There was a hail of gunfire as a jewelry store employee made the decision to shoot back – armed with an AK-47 rifle he keeps behind the counter – at four armed men who opened fire on his customers and staff during an attempted robbery.

The owner of Jeff’s Jewelry Store, Jeffery Turner, told police that four men stormed into his store, brandishing firearms. The armed thugs then demanded jewelry, purses and other items causing Turner to pull an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle from behind the counter.

When the armed thieves opened fire amidst store employees and customers Turner returned fire with the AK-47 rifle. At least three store employees drew their concealed firearms and returned fire on the suspects, striking one of the shooters multiple times, killing him instantly.

The dead robber’s three accomplices fled the store in a white Dodge Charger. Police found the Charger abandoned not far from the jewelry store and say the three suspects are still on the loose despite roadblocks and assistance from a DEA helicopter….

This isn’t the first time Jeff’s Jewelry has been targeted. In November of 2014, five men in a plumber’s van backed up to the store, jumped out, and smashed down the door with a sledgehammer.

Armed mother of two drives off three armed intruders

Police say three masked gunmen forcibly entered a home … demanding money — but they soon found out the homeowners were armed….

The woman said she was in the laundry room when the men broke in and held her and two children, who were sleeping, at gunpoint. Home surveillance video captured part of the incident on camera….

The men then reportedly demanded that she lead them to “the money,” so she showed them a safe in the room where the children were sleeping. According to the victim, two of them tried to steal the safe while the third kept her and the two children at gunpoint.

But at one point the woman was able to get away and grab a gun she had hidden nearby.

“I started shooting and they ran!” the homeowner told emergency dispatchers. “They must not have had bullets, because after I pulled the trigger they just took off, instead of firing back.”

Police later found Presley lying on the ground dead between the victim’s house and another home, still armed. It was not clear whether the gun had any ammunition….
