On July 11, 2021, thousands of subjugated Cubans courageously took to the streets to protest the deplorable social and economic conditions imposed upon them by their maleficent masters, the Communist overlords who rule their impoverished nation.
“Libertad” was their rallying cry. And what was the official response of the nation that pledges to stand for “liberty and justice for all?”
The Biden administration despicably spun the protests as simply people upset about Covid and and a lack of access to vaccines.
Julie Chung, Acting Assistant Secretary for U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs tweeted this:
“Peaceful protests are growing in #Cuba as the Cuban people exercise their right to peaceful assembly to express concern about rising COVID cases/deaths & medicine shortages. We commend the numerous efforts of the Cuban people mobilizing donations to help neighbors in need.”
There is little doubt in my mind that the Biden White House reached out to their Cuban Commie dictator counterparts and coordinated the lies they would tell to downplay the protests and deceive the American public about the true purpose and import of the protests.
Regardless of whether they coordinated with the Cuban Commies, the Biden Administration’s reprehensible response is yet another evil example of the Democrat party and the regressive left’s capitulation to devilish dictators, and of their ghastly embrace of the abhorrent murderous philosophy and system of oppression that is Communism — a.k.a Socialism taken to its logical conclusion.
For decades the Cuban people have lived under the iron fist of Communist rule. They have been deprived of the fundamental human rights of freedom of assembly, of freedom of expression, of freedom of religion, of the right to keep and bear arms, of property rights, of economic freedom and of the right to pursue happiness and enjoy the fruits of their own labors.
Meanwhile their masters, Castro and his Communist co-conspirators — national and local officials and leaders of the Cuban Communist Party — have shamelessly lived high on the hog of privilege, enjoying lavish lifestyles and police and military protection funded by the blood, sweat and tears of the peasants whose faces they grind under the brutal boot of government oppression.
Yet when the Cuban people rise up to protest against the Communist regime, the Biden Administration downplays the protests and props up the despotic government.
Outrageous. Despicable. Abhorrent. Evil. Adjectives fail to adequately communicate the magnitude of the Biden Administration’s betrayal of the Cuban people.
The Cuban people deserve better. They deserve freedom. The United States of America should be helping the Cuban people achieve Life, Libertad, and the Pursuit of Happiness: ideals that fueled the founding and progress of the greatest nation the world has ever seen, and which should be the birthright of every human being born into this world.
