The Global Warming Gestapo

You don’t even have to know anything about science to understand that there is something seriously wrong with claims of imminent disaster from so-called man-made global warming. You don’t even have to pay attention to the weather. All you have to do is examine the rhetoric and actions of the global warming alarmists.

The Climate Change Conspiracy

Have you paused to wonder why we are no longer being bombarded with “global warming” messages, but somehow it has become “climate change” that we need to be afraid of?

Could it be because “global warming” is not really a problem? Definitely. But the point of this post isn’t to get into the Global Warming “debate”. Mother Nature has already put the topic to bed for anyone who has been paying attention to the weather for the last several years. Rather, this post is to examine why the message changed from “global warming” to “climate change”.

Obama and Freedom of the Press

Over the last couple of weeks the Obama administration has been critical of Fox News, and has even gone so far as to attempt to exclude Fox News from participating in press conferences, and to encourage other media outlets to sever ties with Fox News because, according to Obama’s top political adviser, David Axelrod, Fox News is “not really a news station”, and other news organizations “ought not to treat them that way” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-w7-G8PLyc).

These recent events raise some important questions:

  1. Is Fox News a legitimate news organization?
  2. Why is the White House upset with Fox News?
  3. Should the White House try to exclude Fox News?

Al Gore Had an Agenda

You may have heard about the UK’s nursery rhyme-themed advertisements that were created and run by UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) under UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband. The ads were targeted at children. One played off of the “three men in a tub” and warned of rising temperatures and sea levels (neither is the case), and a greater frequency and intensity of “extreme weather events such as storms, floods and heatwaves” (nope, not happening). The other parodied the story of Jack and Jill, telling how there was no water to fetch because of drought. [ref1, ref2]

Overwhelming Evidence of an Agenda

In his State of the Union Address the other night, Obama drew guffaws and laughter when he said “I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence for climate change, but…”

I like to think that the reaction to that statement was from people who couldn’t believe how ridiculous it was.

A Disregard for Truth

They say that loose lips sink ships. Well, lying lips sink political campaigns. Or at least they should.

Richard Blumenthal received numerous draft deferments between 1965 and 1970, before ending up with a cushy assignment in the Marine Reserve. In this way he avoided serving in Vietnam. Yet several times he has outright claimed to have served in Vietnam. On other occasions his own words or the uncorrected words of others have led people to believe that he had served in Vietnam [ref].

The Science of Global Cooling

In my other articles on so-called man-made global warming I’ve focused my criticism of global warming mainly on the political and financial motivations behind the global warming alarmists. In this article I turn my attention to the science of global warming, which can now be more accurately called the science of global cooling, since that is actually what has been happening for the last decade, and is likely to continue to happen for several years.

I actually feel kind of silly writing this article, as it should be obvious to everyone that global warming is a bust, based on a very cold last winter, and a winter right now that is likely to be the coldest in 100 years (see below for more on that). But I am compelled to write because, amazingly, there are still people in the world who believe (or at least want you to believe) that global warming is a serious problem demanding drastic and draconian preventative and corrective measures.

Book Review of The Forsaken

PictureTwenty-eight chapters. Three hundred and sixty four pages. Seven hundred bibliography entries. One thousand one hundred and nineteen footnotes.

These numbers are significant. They are the result of hard work. They are proof of scholarship. Above all, they are evidence of atrocity. Of brutality, despotism, torture, and mass murder the likes of which the world had never known until the twentieth century and its ghastly embrace of Marxism.
Nine thousand. Forty thousand. One hundred and fifty thousand. Two hundred thousand. Three hundred thousand. These are the estimated body counts in just a few of the hundreds of mass graves dug by Lenin, Stalin, and their equally soulless henchmen. Millions of innocent human beings suffered and died miserably, of starvation, exposure, torture and execution, beneath the bloody iron fist of a movement that pretended to “liberate” but instead vigorously fostered widespread brutality, slavery and death behind an iron curtain of lies and deceit.

Harry Reid is Pro-Slavery

Nevada Democrat and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid recently compared health care reform opponents to people who opposed the abolition of slavery. Reid said:
Instead of joining us on the right side of history, all the Republicans can come up with is, “slow down, stop everything, let’s start over.” If you think you’ve heard these same excuses before, you’re right. When this country belatedly recognized the wrongs of slavery, there were those who dug in their heels and said “slow down, it’s too early, things aren’t bad enough.”
Reid’s wrong. His reasoning is way too liberal; his logic is lousy. The reality is that Reid is far more like a slave-holder than government health care opponents are like anti-abolitionists.

What’s Affordable about H.R. 3962?

After the passage of the “Affordable Health Care for America Act” (H.R. 3962), Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi made a statement that is illustrative of a chronic disregard of truth and a perpetual propensity for propaganda. Pelosi said that “Democrats voted for the bill and a Republican voted for the bill. That equals bipartisan” (www.cnn.com).
Really? A single Republican votes for a bill and that makes it “bipartisan”? We are all supposed to ignore the tremendous gulf between Democrat and Republican, liberal and conservative, and feel good about the bill because a single Republican voted for it? If Pelosi had her way she’d probably call it the “Bipartisan Affordable Health Care for America Act”. Why not add another lie to the already misleading bill title?
